Our Story
Like all great things, great tequila is crafted in small, subtle steps without compromise along the way. This is our philosophy at Magave Tequila. Our tequila is made from only the finest mountain grown Blue Agave. Working with our distiller in Tequila, Jalisco Mexico, we check every batch of the Blue Agave to insure that it meets our high standards. Quality is of the most importance to Magave Tequila.
With a combined tequila industry experience exceeding 90 years, our distillation methods meld the best of the old with the best of the new. We utilize traditional slow-baking brick ovens and autoclaves to cook the blue agave hearts and traditional mills (molinos) to extract the thick honey sugar from the agave. Next, it’s a slow fermentation process using naturally occurring yeast for 48-60 hours. This slower fermentation process produces a more full-bodied tequila with a deeper agave flavor. The fermented juice is then double-distilled using old fashioned “pot stills”. The result is ultra-premium tequila of unparalleled smoothness and elegance. We then bottle our blanco, reposado and añejo in hand-etched and painted bottles that befits the distinction of these fine spirits.
